Overland International's website Expedition Portal is one of the internet's most popular website for adventure travelers, especially those interested in self-sustained vehicle based expeditions. Expedition Portal approached me to create a digital newsletter / e-magazine to be a companion to their printed publication Overland Journal.
I was tasked with creating and naming this publication as well as producing the first issue in electronic form.
As a companion publication, it was important for the Waypoint to fill in the cracks between Overland Journal and the Expedition Portal website. In addition to filling the cracks, I also took advantage of the e-magazine format to include multimedia assets, thus combining an online and magazine experience.
